Vet Destruction

We didn't get to see this because it happened back in the treatment room, but the vet told us about it. He was struggling during his tests, so they tried to calm him down with a bowl of food. He deliberately sent the bowl flying off the table.I think it's funny that they probably have more mess to clean up after a little Grizzly pig than the typical big dog.

Wet Exam

The vet wasn't able to conclusively identify what was causing Grizzly's cough, but there are only a few possible explanations, so if it can't be found, it's worth treating him for one of the ones that's harder to detect. We forgot to warn them that while he was waiting on the exam table he had peed out the side of the carrier.Which was only a problem because it had wicked up under the carrier and made it wet... And then the vet tucked it under her arm to bring into the back room.

Cough

Grizzly had an occasional cough ever since we got him, that lasted about three months. Guinea pigs usually don't cough, and when they do it could mean they're hiding a rather severe upper respiratory infection. Then again, it could also be allergies, which is what we suspected in Grizzly's case. Not only was his cough not that persistent, he would also sneeze sometimes. We even switched to unscented laundry detergent for the cage blanket. He finally crossed the line where we got concerned when we started hearing it every day, though. So we did end up bringing him to the vet for it.

Action Scene

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Grizzly likes action movies. At least not in the same way that Fuzzy liked Jurassic Park movies. But when he was ready to go, all the shooting and explosion attracted his interest long enough that he didn't immediately run back to the cage.Supposedly guinea pigs are afraid of loud noises, but Grizzly just seemed curious. Or maybe he just wanted to see if McClane was going to make it.

Distracted

Often both pigs run away and hide when we approach the cage. And occasionally they will ignore us and keep doing what they're doing. But most of the time when they don't run away, they end up watching us carefully. If they were in the middle of snack time or a "meeting," they will pause and watch us. I guess to see if we'll give them food. And usually if we don't, they'll come beg at the side of the cage to change our minds.
