	Wednesday, September 6, 2023 Free Baby I've mentioned before, molly fish are live bearers. Meaning they give birth to live young instead of laying eggs. And they can be pregnant for up to 3 months first. So it's possible a molly could have had a baby in there. An orange one would have been weird, though. All of our mollies are Dalmatian mollies. Meaning they are black and white. I've read that they can change the color of their offspring based on the environment, but that's quite a change! It turns out that's not what happened, though. We brought the baby home with us and now he's all grown up. Now we can tell he's actually a golden platy, not a molly. They prefer to be in groups, but he schools with the other mollies just fine since he grew up with them. We named him Julius.
